CHRISTINA ZÜCK: DEFENCE PHASE II KARACHI
This blog is a part of an art project. Parts of it were shown at the exhibition „embedded art – Kunst im Namen der Sicherheit“, Akademie der Künste Pariser Platz, Berlin, from January to March 2009. The project was funded by Hauptstadtkulturfonds Berlin and Goethe Institut South Asia. The author is a Berlin-based artist and art historian. „Defence Phase II“ is the name of a neighbourhood in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. All images depicting symbols of violence aim at the dissemination of non-violence, which is, as usual, a non resolvable paradox.

Really wonderful work which we saw today at t2f and that on his blog as well.
Yeah foolishly enough, violence around the world is being fought with even more violence, which is well depicted in some of the series of you pictures..
It was a pleasure being at the event today ..
